Rm & via Zoom Mayor’s Office Kona <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm <br /> District 1 - Stanley Mendes, Present, in person <br /> District 2 - Kean Umeda, Present, via Zoom <br /> District 3 – Rhon Leomana Turalde, Present via Zoom <br /> District 4 – Brian Ley – Present, in person <br /> District 5 - Abraham Antonio, Present, via Zoom <br /> District 6 - Grayson Hashida – Excused <br /> District 7 - Vacant <br /> District 8 – Cortney Okumura – Present via Zoom <br /> District 9 - George Donev, Excused <br /> <br /> Quorum Established with 6 in attendance <br /> <br />STAFF: Diana Mellon-Lacey, Attorney, Corp Counsel (via Zoom) <br /> Pomai Bartolome, Executive Assistant to Mayor Roth <br /> Barbara Kossow, Administrative Specialist Mayor’s Kona Office <br /> <br />Chair Antonio reminded all Commissioners per the Sunshine Law, you must be visible on the screen and <br />you need to make known who is in the room with you especially when making a motion. <br /> <br /> <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br /> <br />Action: S. Mendes motioned to approve the February 15, 2022 minutes. Seconded by B. <br />Ley. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AA: OK, Diana, you can do your quick presentation of updating the public on our future meetings. <br /> <br />DML: OK. So at this point in time we expect everything to be lifted – the mask mandates to be lifted by <br />our next meeting and you have some options as far as how you choose to meet. You can do the <br />traditional, which is one meeting site – everybody present in person, no Zoom required. That’s <br />one option. Of the second is you can have some meeting in person at more than one site so <br />some people could be in West Hawaii, some people could be in East Hawaii and then you’d be <br />connected via Zoom and the public could come by at both sites. That may be harder to <br />orchestrate because there might be more people, but that’s an option under Sunshine Law. And <br />then the third is everybody that wants to be remote can be remote and that could be all the <br />board members but you would still have to have at least one in person site where the public <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
