Detailed description of the proposed use, objectives and reasons for request; hours <br /> of operation and number of employees and clientele <br /> The petitioners are requesting a portion of the permitted dwelling be used as a home <br /> occupancy office for a massage therapy establishment (MAE). The residence floor plan <br /> consists of two bedrooms, bathroom, living room, kitchen and covered lanai. It is single <br /> story. One bedroom will be converted to the office space.Rehabilitative and stress <br /> release massage therapy will be offered. <br /> Quality health care services are lacking in our Puna community. The petitioners are <br /> enthusiastic about providing a location that will serve our underserved and growing <br /> population. Clinics and physicians have contacted the petitioner wanting to refer <br /> patients for treatments. They have been assured that as soon as a special use permit is <br /> granted services will be available to assist them in supporting patients. Issuance of this <br /> permit will allow for this level of service to our own under served community. <br /> Since the initial submission of the petitioners application, the corona virus pandemic has <br /> impacted many in some adverse. Folks are wanting to get health care services away <br /> from larger populated clinics.The proposed location will support this want and also <br /> decrease communities travel time to appointments. The locations rural environment <br /> lends itself to wellness and stress release as compared to the hustle and bustle of town. <br /> Available parking will be found with ease and footsteps from client/ patients destination. <br /> Proposed use-home occupancy office for massage therapy <br /> Hours of operation <br /> Monday-Friday 08-00-17.00 By appointment only. <br /> Saturday appointments as needed. Closed Sundays. There will be some flexibility to <br /> accommodate those unable to schedule during normal business hours. <br /> Clientele expectation:0-5 clients per day. This number will fluctuate based on community <br /> need and potential future delivery of services. Practice caters to kama'aina. <br /> Employees-none.
