<br />b. John Terry, the State GMAC Oahu commissioner gave a presentation on private land <br />access. <br />c. Robert Duerr, Senior Active Outdoor Writers of America Association and writer for Hawai’i <br />Fishing News gave a “Wailoa Small Boat Harbor” presentation, and discussed shoreline <br />fishing concerns related to drone fishing. <br /> <br />5. OLD BUSINESS <br />a. Waipiʻo Valley access closure discussion and ideas were shared for a GMAC draft advisory <br />letter to Mayor Roth. <br />b. Volcano Transfer Station Forest Reserve access discussion for a draft letter requesting <br />Mayor Roth’s assistance. <br />c. Commissioner discussion on palila/sheep draft letter update. <br /> <br />6. NEW BUSINESS: <br />a. Discussion on a plan of action regarding the Laupahoehoe boat ramp closure. <br />A suggestion was made to invite the Parks and Recreation Director to a GMAC meeting. <br /> <br />b. GMAC approval of a letter requesting the Governor to sign HB 1872. No action was <br />made. We were informed by Steve Bader, that he would speak to the mayor and that <br />he would probably send a letter to the governor. In addition, everyone at the meeting <br />was encouraged to contact the Governor to sign HB 1872 into law. <br /> <br />7. ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br /> <br />8. COMMITTEE REPORTS BY DISTRICT: <br /> Shooting Range - an update will be made at the next meeting <br /> Cultural Practices <br /> Legislative update <br /> “Hunter, Fishing Day Expo”, September 24, 2022” – working on securing a site, <br />funding, vendors, and program. <br /> <br />9. COMMISSIONERS REPORTS: <br /> <br />10. ADJOURNMENT: (8:00 pm) <br />Action: B. Ley moved to adjourn. Seconded by L. Turalde.
