TELEPHONE (808) 961-8050, FAX (808) 961-8657. <br /> <br />September 15, 2017 <br /> <br />HONOKŌHAU DEEPWELL <br />HISTORY AND REPAIR STATUS INFORMATION SHEET. <br />Information Sheet. <br /> <br />Overview. <br />Honokōhau Deepwell consists of a pump and motor which can produce approximately 1,400 gallons per minute. The pumping <br />unit is housed in a 20” well casing, which is approximately 1,740 feet deep. The pump bowl diameter is 11” and the pump is <br />approximately 9 feet long. The motor is a 2-Pole, 800 horsepower, 4,160-volt submersible motor. The motor diameter is 18” <br />and it is approximately 11 feet long. <br /> <br />Prior History. <br />Designed and built in November 1997, Honokōhau Deepwell has undergone repair seven (7) times prior to this current repair. <br /> <br />Current Repair Status. <br />Honokōhau Deepwell is currently undergoing repair. Contractor for this repair is Beylik Drilling and Pump Services, Inc. Repairs <br />include the replacement of the existing deepwell submersible pump and motor, with reinstallation of power cable, column pipe, <br />air line and all appurtenant materials, such as strapping, and chlorination of the well and pumping assembly. Motor was extracted <br />and shipped to manufacturer for teardown and evaluation. Results confirmed that motor suffered damage to the motor windings, <br />therefore, motor needs to be rewound. Spare pump inspection is complete and contractor is preparing pump for installation. At this <br />time, the rewound motor is estimated to be on site by mid- October and the repairs are anticipated to be complete by end of October. <br /> <br />Water Restriction Information. <br />An Emergency Water Restriction is in effect as of August 13, 2017.
