Palani Deepwell History and Repair Status Information Sheet <br /> <br />Department of Water Supply logo. <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY, COUNTY OF HAWAI`I, <br />345 KEKŪANAŌ`A STREET, SUITE 20, HILO, HAWAI`I, 96720, TELEPHONE (808) 961 - 8050, FAX (808) 961 - 8657. <br /> <br />September 15, 2017 <br /> <br />PALANI DEEPWELL HISTORY AND REPAIR STATUS INFORMATION SHEET. <br /> <br />Information Sheet. <br /> <br />Overview, <br />Palani Deepwell consists of a pump and motor which can produce approximately 1,150 gallons per minute. The pumping unit is <br />housed in a 20” well casing, which is approximately 1,763 feet deep. The pump bowl diameter is 9-3/4 and the pump is approximately <br />8 feet long. The motor is a 2-Pole, 636 horsepower, 4,160-volt submersible motor. The motor diameter is 15-1/4” and it is approximately <br />10 feet long. <br /> <br />Prior History, <br />Designed and built in 2015, Palani Deepwell has not required any repairs prior to this current repair. <br /> <br />Current Repair Status, <br />Palani Deepwell is currently undergoing repair. Contractor for this repair is Derrick’s Drilling and Pump Services, LLC. Repairs includes <br />installation of a new submersible pump and motor, column pipe, column couplings, check valves, sounding tubes, power cable, and <br />appurtenances; disinfection of the well and pumping unit; and completion of an acceptance test. Column assembly has been delivered. <br />Electrical materials have been installed and electrical top-side work has been completed. Pump has been delivered and inspected. <br />Motor is on island. Repairs were anticipated to be complete by the 4th week of September, however, due to the changes in the contractor’s <br />repair schedule of Hualālai Deepwell, repairs are now anticipated to be complete by the 1st week of October. Contract completion date is <br />October 30, 2017. <br /> <br />Water Restriction Information, <br />An Emergency Water Restriction is in effect as of August 13, 2017.
