Information Sheet Overview, Keōpū Deepwell consists of a pump and motor which can produce approximately 650 gallons per minute. The pumping unit is housed in a 14” well casing, which is approximately 1,704 feet deep. The pump bowl diameter is 9-1/2” and the pump is approximately 8 feet long. The motor is a 2-Pole, 400 horsepower, 2,300-volt submersible motor. The motor diameter is 11” and it is approximately 10 feet long. Prior History, Designed and built in 2009, Keōpū Deepwell has not required any repairs prior to this current repair. Current Repair Status, Keōpū Deepwell repair contract has been awarded to Derrick’s Drilling and Pump Services, LLC. Repair includes removal of the existing well equipment; installation of a new submersible pump and motor, column pipe, column couplings, check valves, sounding tubes, power cable, and appurtenances; disinfection of the well and pumping unit; and completion of an acceptance test. Column assembly and electrical materials have been delivered. Pump and motor have also been ordered and are expected to arrive end of October 2017. Repair is on schedule and contract completion date is December 20, 2017. Water Restriction Information, An Emergency Water Restriction is in effect as of August 13, 2017.
