4. Supportive Information: The applicant has submitted the attached in support of the <br /> request. (Planning Department Exhibit 1 — Change of Zone Amendment Request <br /> dated May 26, 2022 and Planning Department Exhibit 2 — Additional Information <br /> dated August 29,2022). <br /> PERMITTING HISTORY <br /> 5. August 27, 1998—Effective Date of Ordinance No. 98 91, approved by County Council <br /> to change the zoning of the subject property from from Agricultural 20-acre (A-20a) to <br /> Agricultural 5-acre (A-5a) zoned district. (Planning Department Exhibit 3—Change of <br /> Zone Ordinance 98 91). <br /> 6. April 13,2005—The Planning Department issued tentative subdivision approval to <br /> subdivide the subject property into four(4) lots (SUB 2003-0179). <br /> 7. August 31,2020—The Planning Department deemed the subdivision application <br /> (SUB 2003-0179) to be withdrawn due to no response from the previous owner to <br /> comply with the conditions of Change of Zone Ordinance No. 98 91. <br /> 8. May 26, 2022—Date of submittal of subject change of zone amendments. <br /> STATE AND COUNTY PLANS <br /> 9. State Land Use Designation: Agricultural. <br /> 10. County Zoning: Agricultural 5-acre (A-5a) <br /> 11. General Plan LUPAG Map: Important Agricultural Land. <br /> 12. Kona Community Development Plan (CDP): The Kona CDP, adopted by the Hawaii <br /> County Council by Ordinance No. 08-131 on September 25, 2008 affects the subject <br /> property. The subject property is situated outside the "Kona Urban Area". <br /> 13. Special Management Area (SMA): The Special Management Area is a part of the <br /> Coastal Zone Management Program and regulated by the County. The site is located <br /> approximately seven (7)miles from the nearest shoreline and is not situated within the <br /> SMA. <br /> DESCRIPTION OF SUBJECT PROPERTIES AND SURROUNDING AREA <br /> 14. Subject Property: The subject, irregular shaped property is located on Kaloko Drive <br /> approximately 720 feet southeast of its intersection with Kaloko Loa Place in the Kaloko <br /> Mauka Subdivision at approximately the 2,500-foot elevation and is currently vacant of <br /> any structures or other improvements. <br /> -8- <br />
