<br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND HEARINGS <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following matters to be considered by the Planning <br />Commission of the County of Hawaii in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 91 and 92, <br />Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 6-4.3 of the Charter of the County of Hawaii, and the Planning <br />Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. <br />DATE: <br /> Friday, April 4, 2008 <br /> TIME: <br />9:00 a.m. <br />PLACE: <br />County of Hawaii Aupuni Center Conference Room <br /> 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, HI 96720 <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS – 9:00 a.m. <br />INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR <br />1. <br />Continued hearing on the revocation of Special Permit No. 05-009 (Melvin Miranda), <br />which allowed the establishment of a contractor’s base yard on approximately one acre of <br />land situated within the State Land Use Agricultural District. The property is located <br />along the north side of the Hawaii Belt Highway (Highway 19) at the 47.5-mile marker, <br />Kapoaula, Hamakua, Hawaii, TMK: 4-7-7: portion of 55. <br />NEW BUSINESS – 9:00 a.m. <br />APPLICANT: MELVIN W. MIRANDA (SPP NO. 05-009) <br />2. <br />Request to amend Condition No. 2 (time to secure Final Plan approval) of Special Permit <br />No. 05-009, which allowed the establishment of a contractor’s base yard on <br />approximately one acre of land situated within the State Land Use Agricultural District. <br />The property is located along the north side of the Hawaii Belt Highway (Highway 19) at <br />the 47.5-mile marker, Kapoaula, Hamakua, Hawaii, TMK: 4-7-7: portion of 55. <br />APPLICANT: MINIPRO CONSTRUCTION, INC. (SPP NO. 998) <br />3. <br />Amendment to Condition No. 2 (construction time requirement) of Special Permit No. <br />998, which allowed the construction of a self-storage facility and related improvements <br />on 1 acre of land situated within the State Land Use Agricultural District. The <br />amendment request also includes increasing the land area to 3 acres and to increase the <br />number of storage units and storage structures. The property is located in the Kona- <br />South Estate Subdivision situated on the south (makai) side of Highway 11, <br />approximately 1 and ¼ miles west of the Ocean View Post Office, Kahuku, Ka’u, <br />Hawaii, TMK: 9-2-150: portion of 51. <br /> <br />
