NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. APPLICANT: ROBERT J. SILBER(PL-SPP-2022-000016) <br /> Application for a Special Permit to legitimize the operation of a holistic education center <br /> on approximately 8.134 acres of land in the State Land Use Agricultural District. The <br /> subject property is located at 13-2060 Lolia Place, approximately 0.3 miles northwest <br /> (mauka) of its intersection with Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road, Pohoiki, Puna, Hawaii, <br /> TMK: (3) 1-3-002:140. <br /> The Commission took up this item at 9:10 a.m. with 2 members from the public in attendance <br /> and there were no members of the public testified. <br /> Chair Lin stated the applicant had requested to defer the application until the next meeting. <br /> 2. APPLICANT: SHALEEN CURLEE (AMEND SPP 1139/PL-SPP-2022-000023) <br /> Application for a ten (10)-year time extension to Condition No. 2 (life of permit) of <br /> Special Permit No. 1139, which allowed the establishment of an auto repair shop and <br /> towing service operation on 4,421 square feet of land in the State Land Use Agricultural <br /> District. The subject property is located at 15-1505 Paradise Drive, on the northeast <br /> corner of the 19t'Avenue-Paradise Drive intersection, Hawaiian Paradise Park <br /> Subdivision, Kea`au, Puna, Hawaii, TMK: (3) 1-5-041:190. <br /> The Commission took up this item at 9:11 a.m. with 2 members from the public in attendance. <br /> At 9:17 a.m. it was moved by Commissioner Galimba and seconded by Commissioner <br /> Aguinaldo that public testimony be closed for this agenda item. There being no discussion on <br /> the motion, a voice vote was taken, and the motion carried by unanimous vote of those present. <br /> It was moved by Commissioner Galimba and seconded by Commissioner Aguinaldo that the <br /> request to amend Special Permit No. 1139 be approved based on the Planning Director's <br /> recommendation. A roll call vote was taken, and the motion carried with six ayes (Galimba, <br /> Aguinaldo, Balog, Cross, De Luz, Lin) and one excused. <br /> This hearing item ended at 9:26 a.m. [SEE HEARING TRANSCRIPT EXHIBIT A] <br /> PLANNING DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> Report on Special Management Area (SMA) determinations, minor permits action issued <br /> by the Planning Director. <br /> At 9:26 a.m. Chair Lin introduced this item.
