In 2000 I was an undercover informant to the EPA disclosing over <br />Hilo Coast Power Company; and they did an enforcement action bas <br />and providing information of what I saw and what I found in the State records. It was shocking <br />to believe that our State Clean Water Department had allowed the <br />contact once through cooling water into the ocean at 5 degrees h <br />Clean Water Act for 15 years. They also had various pollutants. <br />There were storm water run-on problems. There were, there were <br />problems. And I believe that this plant hasnÓt provided enough <br />that theyÓre going to do a better job. And I believe the way tha <br />Permit through was through inconsistent statements between diffe <br />today in this application, there is a letter from Larry Lau stat <br />discharge under 50,000 gallons of once through cooling water, an <br />a trigger for an environmental assessment. But because, their c <br />meetings with the State that they werenÓt going to be dischargin <br />were exempt from having to do the environmental assessment.
