Workshop for Planning Commissioners – At the suggestions of Commissioner Domingo and the <br />Chair, staff said they will be setting up a workshop for Commissioners on their duties, <br />responsibilities, etc. <br />Planning Commissioner – Mr. Hayashi introduced Dean Au who will fill Shelly Ogata’s <br />unexpired term on the Windward Planning Commission. He then noted that Richard Nelson III <br />has been confirmed as a Commissioner on the Leeward Planning Commission. He pointed out <br />that although Commissioner Andy Iwashita’s term ends in December there is a provision of his <br />remaining a Commissioner for an additional three months if the vacancy is not filled. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS The following announcements were made: <br />Next Meeting – Ms. Leithead Todd announced the next Commission meeting is a joint meeting <br />th <br />with the Leeward Planning Commission on December 9 in Waikoloa, noting there will be a <br />presentation by the State Office of Planning CZM staff on coastal zone management and special <br />management area, along with a discussion of the Planning Commission Rule changes. <br />January 2010 Meetings – Mr. Hayashi announced the first 2010 meeting is scheduled for <br />January 8, 2010 and a memo on the meeting schedule from January to June 2010 will be <br />distributed shortly. He said that as it is anticipated that the County will be going on furlough in <br />July 2010 the schedule for July to December 2010 has not been prepared as yet. <br />There being no further business the Chair declared the meeting <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> adjourned at 12:32 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Sharon M.
