SPP 08-000057 <br />The Commission took this item up at 10:44 a.m. with <br />MARTA V. CAMPBELL <br />approximately 15 people from the public in attendance. <br />HAWAIIAN PARADISE <br />PARK SUBDIVISION, <br />PUNA. <br />APPLICANT: MARTA V. CAMPBELL (SPP 08-000057) <br />Special Permit to allow the establishment of a tutoring center on one acre of land situated within <br />th <br />the State Land Use Agricultural District. The property is located along the makai side of 6 <br />th <br />Avenue, approximately 2,300 feet south of the Makuu Drive and 6 Avenue, Hawaiian Paradise <br />Park Subdivision, Puna, Hawaii, TMK: 1-5-27:43. <br />(SEE EXHIBIT B) <br />SPP 08-000055 <br />The Commission took this item up at 2:10 p.m. with <br />CHERIE McARTHUR` <br />pproximately 10 people from the public in attendance. <br />dba PUNA GIRL FARMS <br />POHOIKI, <br />PUNA <br />APPLICANT: CHERIE McARTHUR dba PUNA GIRL FARMS <br /> (SPP 08-000055) <br />Special Permit to allow to establishment of an Agricultural Tourism operation, which includes <br />tours and retail sales of products on 6.4 acres of land situated within the State Land Use <br />Agricultural District. The property is located along the north side Pohoiki Road, adjacent to and <br />east of the Lanipuna Gardens Subdivision, Pohoiki, Puna, Hawaii, TMK: 1-3-8:24. <br />Ms. Cottle oriented the Commissioners and public of the subject and surrounding properties on <br />the location map and site plan, summarized the request and noted the Planning Director <br />recommended approval of the application with conditions. <br />For the Commission’s information, Ms. Cottle said there will be no preparation of food done on <br />the subject property as the tour group operator will be providing the food. She added that the <br />applicant will be displaying her products for sale on tables. <br />The applicant, Cherie McArthur, stated she has read the Planning Director’s background report <br />and recommendation, and that she will be able to comply with the proposed conditions. <br />Mr. Yuen said between the pavilion and nearest property line (56 feet) there are a few tall banana <br />trees and lei flower plants, and the land beyond the fence is overgrown, noting the neighboring <br />land is vacant. He then proposed additional wordings to proposed Condition 3. <br />For the Commission’s information, Ms. McArthur said that there is a handicapped bathroom in <br />the pavilion, they will continue to use porta potties, and she manages the facility by herself. <br />There was no one from the public wishing to testify on the application. <br />3 <br /> <br />
