APPLICANTS: VERNE AND LYNN WOOD (SPP 05-018) <br />Continued hearing on the application for a Special Permit to allow a contractors warehouse and <br />baseyard to facilitate the construction and servicing of water catchment systems on 40,075 <br />square feet of land situated within the State Land Use Agricultural District. The property is <br />rd <br />located between 33 Street and Highway 130 (Keaau-Pahoa Road), approximately 800 feet <br />rd <br />northwest of the 33 Street Makuu Drive intersection, Hawaiian Paradise Park Subdivision, <br />Keaau, Puna, Hawaii, TMK: 1-5-16:167. <br />(SEE EXHIBIT C) <br />SPP 05-019The Commission took this item up at 2:31 p.m., with <br />ROMANO DE CESAREfive people from the pubic in attendance. <br />KEAAU, <br />PUNA <br />APPLICANT: ROMANODE CESARE (SPP 05-019) <br />Special Permit to allow the establishment of a home office for real estate acquisition and <br />management within an existing single family dwelling situated on a 9.5-acre property within the <br />State Land Use Agricultural District. The existing dwelling is the former Puna Sugar Co. <br />managers residence situated along the northeast side of the old Keaau Pahoa Road, Keaau, <br />Puna, Hawaii, TMK: 1-6-3:85. <br />Mr. Darrow oriented the Commission and public of the subject and surrounding properties on the <br />location map and site plan, summarized the request, and noted the Planning Director is <br />recommending approval of the application with conditions. <br />The applicant, Romano De Cesare, stated he did review and had no objections to the Planning <br />Departments background report and recommendation. <br />As Mr. De Cesare said he is considering having the residence included in the National Register <br />ofHistoricPlaces,CommissionerSiracusaencouragedthathedoso. <br />InresponsetoCommissionerSalaveasinquiry,Mr.DeCesareconfirmedthathewillbeusing <br />the existing dwelling and not constructing any new dwellings. <br />There was no one from the public wishing to testify on this application. <br />It was moved by Commissioner Springer and seconded by Commissioner Siracusa that the <br />applicationbeapprovedforthereasonsandwiththeconditionsprovidedbythePlanning <br />Department. A roll call vote was taken and motion carried with six ayes (Springer, Siracusa, <br />McCall,Salavea,WatanabeandAlameda)andthreeabsentandexcused(Galdones,Grahamand <br />Iwashita). <br />REZ 05-018 The Commission took this item up at 2:37 p.m., with <br />KULANA KEA, LLC eight people from the pubic in attendance. <br />WAINAKU, <br />SOUTHHILO <br />4 <br /> <br />
