The property is the site of the existing Kona Inn Shopping Village, <br />Kailua Village, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, TMK: 7-5-7:21. <br />Mr. Darrow told the Commission that the applicants representative, Steven Lim, submitted a <br />thst <br />letter dated September 19 requesting a continuance to the October 21 meeting. <br />Mr. Lim explained that they are requesting a continuance for the purpose of discussing with the <br />Planning Director some of his concerns raised in the background and recommendation report. <br />Mr. Lim said that they he hopes to come in with a modified proposal that would satisfy some of <br />the concerns. <br />st <br />Mr. Hayashi said that the initial agenda for the October 21 meeting has already been published <br />but that since there is more than 6 calendar days an addendum can be made to accommodate the <br />applicant. <br />In response to Commissioner Watanabes inquiries, Mr. Lim said that to the extent that the <br />applicant needs to waive the 90-day rule they will do so and Chairperson Springer said the <br />applicantwouldnotcontesttheCommissionnottakingactionwithina90-dayperiodsincethe <br />hearing is being continued at their request. <br />It was moved by Commissioner Salavea and seconded by Commissioner Watanabe that this <br />applicationbecontinuedtotheOctober21,2005meeting.Arollcallvotewastakenandmotion <br />carried with 5 ayes (Salavea, Watanabe, Alameda, Graham, and Springer) and 4 absent and <br />excused(Galdones,McCall,Siracusa,andIwashita). <br />RECESSED:TheChaircalledforarecessat10:32a.m. <br />RECONVENED:Themeetingreconvenedat11:00a.m. <br />2 <br /> <br />
