SOUTH KOHALA <br />APPLICANT: STATE DEPARTMENT OF LAND AND NATURAL RESOURCES (REZ <br />05-002) <br />Application for a Change of Zone from Open (O) to the Industrial-Commercial Mixed one-acre <br />(MCX-1a) district for approximately 1.32acres of land located approximately 1,200 feet <br />northwest of the junction between the Kawaihae Road and the Akoni Pule Highway at <br />Kawaihae, South Kohala, Hawaii, TMK: 6-1-3:15. <br />Mr. Darrow stated that the Applicants representative sent a request for continuance. <br />Commissioner Watanabe queried the Planning Director as to the 90-day time deadline to hear <br />this application before it can go directly to the County Council. Director Yuen stated that the <br />applicant is within the 90-day period and has stated that theywill come back to the Commission <br />at least once before going forward to the Council. Mr. Torigoe clarified that under the Rules and <br />Ordinances basically there is a 90-day time thatsrunning but that time can be extended if agreed <br />toby the applicant. Chair Springer stated that the correspondence requests for continuance of the <br />public hearing to the next West Hawai`i Public Hearing tentatively scheduled for August 26, <br />2005. The request was granted by consensus of all the Commissioners present. <br />(SPP 05-005)The Commission took this item up at 9:15 a.m. with <br />DEBRA DICKENSapproximately 9 people from the public in attendance. <br />KEOKEA <br />SOUTH KONA <br />APPLICANT: DEBRA DICKENS (SPP 05-005) <br />Special Permit to allow the re-establishment <br />of a neighborhood store (former Morihara Store) on approximately 10,000 square feet of land <br />situated within the State Land Use Agricultural District.
