Merit Appeals Board <br />July 18, 2022 <br />CHR. CABANAS: And not just one or two divisions. And the other thing I just want to add is <br />the employment counseling component. So, when you—we have applicants whose applications <br />are not accepted and the staff have contact—especially if it's a phone call or that—are they <br />providing some employment counseling to the applicants? <br />MR. LEOPOLDINO: Yes, absolutely. I got to say, we haveI don't want to say our senior <br />staff—but our two Specialists in the position have been there for quite some time, and I have had <br />the opportunity to see some of the email interaction with them and the applicants. And I do see <br />that there is that piece that's still continuing. <br />So, yes, that is definitely something we do. We don't just reject. If we feel the applicant can <br />provide us more information or just the additional advice for counseling, we do provide that <br />information. And I know our HR Manager in Recruitment also does that as well. So, we <br />definitely promote that. <br />CHR. CABANAS: Okay. But—good. That's good to hear. Because if someone doesn't meet <br />the minimum qualification requirements for, let's say, this recruitment— <br />MR. <br />ecruitment <br />MR. LEOPOLDINO: Yes. <br />CHR. CABANAS: but maybe for another recruitment, they are having that conversation as <br />well? <br />MR. LEOPOLDINO: Yes. <br />CHR. CABANAS: Okay, good. I think the trend is to sell, sell, sell. So, that's part of not only <br />recruiting but we have a whole bunch of positions available -56 continuous recruitment <br />positions. So, and I think our staff can also share the angst with trying to get these positions <br />filled and they're doing everything possible to try and get it filled. So, definitely. <br />And I was a former employment counselor, so I feel that's a very critical piece in our work. So, <br />yes—short answer. <br />CHR. CABANAS: Okay, good. That's good to hear.
