Volunteer Response <br />Volunteer Companies 5-Bravo (Hawaiian Acres), 5-Charlie (Fern Forest), <br />5-Delta (Fern Acres), 10-Delta (Ainaloa) were busy during the month of <br />December responding to multiple incidents in the Puna district including a <br />structure fire in the Ainaloa Subdivision. <br />Fire Prevention Report <br />Promotions <br />Firefighter John Requelman and Fire Hazardous Materials Specialist Gary <br />Ahu Jr. were promoted to Fire Inspector I on December 1st. <br />Structure Fire Investigations <br />The Fire Prevention Branch investigated two structure fires during the <br />month of December. The fires were located in Districts 10 and 18. <br />We also investigated a vehicle fire in District 6 involving Medic 7 (M7) <br />which caught fire while transporting a patient to the hospital. EMS <br />personnel and patient reported no injuries. Fire originated from the <br />engine compartment area. Company 6 responded to area below the <br />hospital road and extinguished the fire. M7 was towed to Mechanic Shop. <br />Inspections and Plan Review <br />Fire Inspector II Plans Examiner Ed Kawasaki has reported working a <br />total of 136 hours this month with 29 hours being spent on inspections, <br />testing, meetings, etc. which leaves 107 hours dedicated to plan review. <br />He reviewed a total of 40 plans with an average time of 2.6 hours spent <br />on each plan. <br />2022 1 DECEMBER 13 <br />
