Training Services Report <br />51st Recruit Class Training <br />The 51st Recruit Class completed various training including: <br />Rescue Systems Training at Wong Stadium under the lead of FEO Paul <br />Kekela. The class learned rappelling, anchor systems, and various rope <br />rescue techniques. <br />Building a hose evolutions training prop which was set up for a one -day <br />workshop focusing on flowing and moving the 2 1/2" attack line at Kona <br />ARFF. The class was taught by members of the Honolulu Fire <br />Department. The prop will provide many hours of training to future <br />recruits and current members. <br />51st Recruits supported and attended the Hawai'i Fire <br />Chief's Conference. Recruits helped with setting up <br />equipment, floral arrangements, and moving large items. <br />The class attended presentations from fire service giants <br />such as Chiefs Rick Lasky, Bobby Halton, and Derek <br />Alkonis. This was truly a rare opportunity so early in their <br />careers. The class was amongst the last to hear Chief <br />Halton speak prior to his untimely passing. May he rest <br />in peace. <br />Meeting with Vector Solutions <br />BC Springer met with Vector Solutions representatives to discuss <br />developing online means of reporting station drills performed by fire <br />companies. This endeavor would facilitate more accurate data and <br />analysis of company drill activities. <br />Volunteer Report <br />Events <br />Volunteer Company 9-Bravo participated in the Waimea Christmas <br />Parade with Engine 9-Bravo and Big Dog 9-Bravo. <br />Volunteer Firefighters from Company 1-Alpha (Pepeekeo) participated in <br />the 2nd annual "Heroes and Helpers" event to help spread Holiday Cheer <br />to youths in the community. <br />Several volunteers from various companies across the island attended <br />the Hawai'i Fire Chief's Conference at the Fairmont Orchid. <br />New Vehicle at Hawaiian Acres Station 5B <br />Volunteer Company 5-Bravo (Hawaiian Acres) added a vehicle to their <br />ranks. The truck was moved from Company 5-Charlie (Fern Forest) and <br />renamed X-5 Bravo. This vehicle adds much needed fire suppression to <br />the community and has already responded to multiple fire calls in the <br />subdivision. <br />2022 1 DECEMBER 12 <br />
