Kimo Alameda <br /> Takashi Domingo Andrew Iwashita <br /> Shelly Ogata Rene’ Siracusa <br /> Alvin Rho Rodney Watanabe <br /> Rell Woodward <br /> Ivan Torigoe, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Christopher Yuen, Planning Director <br />Norman Hayashi, Planning Program Manager <br />Phyllis Fujimoto, Staff Planner <br />Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br />Maija Cottle, Staff Planner <br />And approximately 70 people from the public in attendance. <br />KONA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN <br />Review of the draft Kona Community Development Plan (CDP) submitted by the Kona CDP <br />Steering Committee and its Consultant, Wilson Okamoto Corporation. <br />HAYASHI: I’ll turn the mike over to Nancy Pisicchio who is the consultant for the <br />Planning Department and is responsible for the Kona CDP preparation. And with her are: the <br />consultant team – Earl Matsukawa from Wilson Okamoto, and Ken Melrose who is the Chair of <br />the Kona CDP Steering Committee. So they will be making the presentation to you. I’m sorry – <br />they also have Mike Matsukawa there. <br />PISICCHIO: Thank you very much. Good evening. My name is Nancy Pisicchio from <br />the Kona Planning Department. I’ve been working as a consultant for the Planning Department <br />since I guess 2005, helping to put together the Kona CDP. And we finally have a finished draft, <br />I’m happy to say. It’s been a longtime coming and a lot of participation from a lot of people in <br />the community. So we are going to give you a brief overview of the Plan, of the outline. <br />Back in September of 2005, we began with public outreach meetings. And these were an <br />invitation to the public to have facilitators come to their homes or their churches or schools or <br />garages or parks, and asked people what the vision for Kona was, and we got about 3,500 ideas <br />from that that people had expressed.
