• conducted 52 informational interviews <br />with advocates and management staff <br />from Deaf domestic and sexual violence <br />programs; <br />• hosted a listening session with Deaf <br />advocates at the Deaf Anti -Violence <br />Coalition's biennial conference for <br />domestic and sexual violence advocates; <br />• held a two-day, intensive focus group <br />with 8 Deaf advocates from around the <br />country to explore strategies, including <br />technology, that could be used to <br />increase Deaf survivors' access to healing <br />and advocacy; and <br />• held a two-day, consensus -building <br />meeting with 8 Deaf advocates to <br />review and refine proposed strategies to <br />expand services to Deaf survivors <br />nationwide. <br />Throughout the planning process, <br />Vera centered the voices, <br />perspectives, and expertise of <br />members of the Deaf community. <br />
