of the spaces shall be made available free of charge to organizations exempt from <br /> federal income taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the federal Internal RevenueCode. <br /> A tax-exempt organization shall not be denied the use of advertising space in a County <br /> transit bus solely becausethe announcement or advertisement refers to the location of an <br /> event sponsored by the tax-exempt organization, even if the location of the event is not <br /> owned or operated by a tax-exempt organization. <br /> For the purpose of this subsection, "standard advertising space" means a space 11 inches <br /> wide and 28 inches long. <br /> (c) The mass transit agency shall set the rates for the renting or letting of advertising <br /> spaces as well as defining a process to accept advertisements. Rates and such process <br /> shall be set by rules adopted in accordance with Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 91. <br /> Section 18-99.13. Advertising on County bus passes. <br /> (a) The mass transit agency may allow advertisements on bus passes issued under the <br /> County bus system fare structure. <br /> (b) The types of advertising that are not permitted on the inside or outside of County bus <br /> transit buses are not permitted on County bus passes. <br /> 18-35 SUPP. 1 (1-2017) <br />
