In his previous .:.. <br /> role, Mr. Simpson served as the coordinator for the Smart Sustainable <br /> Communities initiative for Hawai`i Green Growth. His responsibilities <br /> included primary coordination, research, logistics, and technical <br /> Arve <br /> support for the Smart Sustainable Communities (SSC) Roundtable and : <br /> corresponding working groups. <br /> Dave's experience in this role involved engagement with a diverse • „ <br /> array of key leaders, partner organizations, and technical experts to "' <br /> achieve SSC objectives that promote joint action, accountability, <br /> collaboration, information exchange, resource leverage and consensus <br /> building. The project deliverables included managing a multi-sector EDUCATION <br /> process to develop recommendations on targets, indicators and metrics Master of Urban and Regional Planning, <br /> for the Aloha+ Challenge Smart Sustainable Communities 2030 2016 <br /> University of Hawai`i at Manoa <br /> statewide goal. Membership among the working groups managed in <br /> this process included state and county representatives, locally-based Bachelor of Arts-Political Science & <br /> private sector companies, academic and technical experts, and History, 2004 <br /> community-based organizations. Additional project deliverables Emory University <br /> involved development of the Smart Sustainable Communities Business Emory British Studies Program, 2002 <br /> Roundtable as a private sector platform for collaboration on joint Oxford University,University College <br /> actions to support sustainability initiatives. Dave's experience also <br /> includes a background in hospitality management on the Island of <br /> Lanai and grass-roots political advocacy. <br />
