ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING - PROJECT EXAMPLES <br /> E2 staff can provide the County of Hawaii with the knowledge and technical expertise related to engineering as <br /> below. <br /> Environmental Permitting and Environmental Compliance <br /> ➢ National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Stormwater Permitting and Compliance. Various <br /> Locations. Statewide. Hawaii. E2 processed National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) <br /> permits for industrial facilities in Campbell Industrial Park, PVT Construction and Demolition Landfill on <br /> Oahu, and Princeville Landfill on Kauai. E2 has also processed NPDES permits for a private land owner in <br /> Kahala for the discharge of water and wastewater from decorative ponds and water features and for <br /> hydrotesting reservoir systems for the Honolulu Board of Water Supply. E2 also completed an industrial <br /> discharge connection permit to the City and County of Honolulu's municipal separate storm sewer system <br /> (MS4) for an industrial complex in Kalihi. <br /> ➢ 401 and 404 Water Quality Certifications (WQCs) for improvements and embankment repairs to the <br /> Barbers Point Kalaeloa Harbor. Oahu. Hawaii. State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Harbors <br /> Division. E2 has experience with environmental permitting and certifications for compliance with Clean <br /> Water Act Sections 401 and 404. E2 has processed The 401 WQC was completed in coordination with the <br /> USACE Nationwide Permit 13 (NWP-13). <br /> ➢ 401 Water Quality Applicable Monitoring and Assessment Plan for Nuuanu Reservoir. Honolulu, <br /> Oahu.Hawaii. The Honolulu Board of Water Supply repaired the Nuuanu Reservoir No. 4. The reservoir is <br /> in Nuuanu Valley adjacent to the Pali Highway, State Route 61, approximately 4 miles northeast of <br /> downtown Honolulu. The Nuuanu Reservoir repair project consisted of four primary tasks which required <br /> water quality monitoring, reservoir dredging, repairs to the intake tower and gangway, an outlet pipe <br /> extension, and roadway and embankment repairs. The Water Quality Applicable Monitoring and <br /> Assessment Plan (AMAP) was designed to address monitoring for pollutants in the adjacent stream <br /> environment during construction activities and to ensure Best Management Practices are working to <br /> minimize potential impacts. <br /> Water Quality Studies/Storm Water Monitoring and Planning <br /> E2 has completed storm water monitoring for Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) compliance and for industrial <br /> site runoff compliance in accordance with Navy Region Hawaii's municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) <br /> National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit annually since 2015. E2 has also completed or is <br /> completing several storm water investigations, assessments, and management projects for NAVFAC Hawaii as <br /> follows. <br /> ➢ Storm Water Management Plan for Commander Navy Region Hawaii. Joint Base Pearl Harbor- <br /> Hickam. Oahu. Hawaii. E2 prepared a Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP) for Commander Navy <br /> Region Hawaii in accordance with their National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. <br /> The SWMP contained several program components including public education and outreach, illicit <br /> discharge detection and elimination, construction site runoff control, post construction storm water <br /> management, P2 and good housekeeping, storm water monitoring, and reporting. Storm Water Pollution <br /> Control Plans were developed for over 100 industrial facilities as part of the SWMP. <br /> ➢ Storm Water Management Plan for Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kaneohe Bay. Oahu. Hawaii. E2 <br /> prepared a Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP) for Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kaneohe Bay in <br /> accordance with their National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit.
