Kimo Alameda <br /> Andrew Iwashita William Graham <br /> Shelly Ogata Rene’ Siracusa <br /> Alvin Rho Rell Woodward <br /> Rodney Watanabe <br /> <br /> <br />Ivan Torigoe, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />BgqhrsnogdqXtdm+Ok`mmhmfChqdbsnq <br />Norman Hayashi, Planning Program Manager <br />Phyllis Fujimoto, Staff Planner <br />Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br />And 8 people from the public in attendance. <br />APPLICANT: MATTHEW KILGORE (SMA 07-000020) <br />Special Management Area (SMA) Use Permit to allow the construction of a 5-story, 11-unit <br />condominium project on 14,450 square feet of land. The property is located along the makai side <br />st <br />of Alii Drive, adjacent to and south of the Kona Banyan Tree Condominium, Holualoa 1 and <br />nd <br />2, North Kona, Hawaii, TMK: 7-6-14:13. <br />WATANABE: Second agenda item. This is a Special Management Area Use Permit, <br />SMA 07-000020, for Matthew Kilgore. And with that, I think I’ll turn it over to staff. As a <br />reminder to the public, if there is anyone that wishes to testify on this particular application, you <br />would have to sign up with our secretary. <br />DARROW: Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Sorry for the delay. If I can direct the <br />Planning Commission’s attention to the location map on the wall, the area of this application is <br />in North Kona. More specifically, we are looking at Kuakini Highway running in a north-south <br />direction with the red line running through the middle. This is the Special Management Area <br />line on the map; everything located makai or west of that line is identified as the Special <br />Management Area. On the lower portion of the map, running in a north-south direction parallel <br />with Kuakini, we have Alii Drive. The area of the application is identified with the red dot on <br />the area identified in purple; the purple represents the zoning for the property, which is Resort- <br />Hotel 1,250 square feet or V-1.25. <br />The applicant in this case, Matthew Kilgore, is requesting a Special Management Area Use <br />Permit to allow an 11-unit, 5-story condominium project on 14,450 square feet of land.
