D. Approach <br />The Access/Acquisitions program will work statewide with DOFAW Administrative and Branch <br />staff as well as hunters and other stakeholders to guide the program and identify and complete <br />priority activities that lead to the achievement of access and acquisition project objectives. <br />Specific planned activities will include: <br />• Information gathering to guide access and acquisition priorities. This includes interviews with <br />key staff and others knowledgeable on the history of access practices and landowner relations; <br />documentation of historic right-of-way agreements; analysis of GIS spatial data sets; and field <br />reconnaissance. <br />• Regulatory and fiscal compliance. This includes development of management plans and <br />environmental assessments (including biological and cultural surveys, and fulfillment of federal <br />consultation and administrative requirements). <br />• Proposal writing and grant management. The project will seek funds from other sources to <br />assist with project implementation. <br />• On -the -ground project implementation. Project implementation will include clearing of rights - <br />of -ways; surveying and marking affected property boundaries; placement of signage and other <br />infrastructure; and developing and maintaining roads, trails, and other public access corridors. <br />E.
