Given the long history of residential development of the area, it would <br /> appear very unlikely that the site would contain any useful materials. <br /> 21. Recreational Resources: The subject parcel is located adjacent to the shoreline. <br /> Recreational activities such as fishing, gathering, and swimming, are conducted in this <br /> area. Access to the shoreline is provided via the County owned parcel located 200-feet <br /> south of the subject parcel where there is a shoreline access trail from Paradise Ala Kai <br /> Drive to the shoreline. The proposed project will not alter or impact this existing access. <br /> 22. Scenic and Open Space Resources: On the roadway (Paradise Ala Kai Drive) fronting <br /> the subject parcel there are no ocean views on the approaches from the south or north due <br /> to vegetation and existing development. Open space resources include access to the <br /> shoreline which is accommodated by the existing County shoreline access trail located <br /> 200-feet south of the subject parcel. Impacts to scenic resources are not anticipated since <br /> the proposed home would be in-line with the residential development in this area. <br /> 23. Public Access: There is an existing pedestrian shoreline public access trail located 200 <br /> feet south of the subject parcel located on a County owned parcel of land. This access <br /> will remain unaffected by the project both during construction and after completion of the <br /> project. The access is maintained by the County. <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES AND SERVICES <br /> 24. Access: The property is accessed via Paradise Ala Kai Drive, a County owned and <br /> maintained roadway. <br /> 25. Water: According to the Department of Water Supply, the subject parcel is beyond the <br /> service limits of the County's existing water system facilities. The applicant plans to <br /> install a well for potable water use. <br /> 26. Wastewater: The single-family dwelling will utilize a Department of Health approved <br /> Individual Wastewater System (IWS) to be constructed on the makai side of the subject <br /> parcel. <br /> -4- <br />
