Family Violence Interagency Committee (FVIC) <br /> a. Shana attended the March 4 East Hawaii meeting. <br /> i. April is Child Abuse Awareness Month, Sexual Assault <br /> Awareness Month and National Crime Victims Rights Week <br /> (21-27) <br /> b. There will be signwaving in several locations, will share schedule <br /> when updated. <br /> c. Domestic Violence vigil may possibly be held on October 11. <br /> d. House Bill 1601 was not supported by Office of the Prosecuting <br /> Attorney and has since been deferred. <br /> Vill. NEW BUSINESS <br /> a. Real Women's Essay: Discussion on history of event and direction moving <br /> forward. What is the will of the committee? <br /> i. There wasn't enough time for this discussion. If the CSW would like <br /> to discuss, the meeting time should be lengthened a little. <br /> IX. OLD BUSINESS <br /> A. Communications Sub-Committee reports <br /> a. Family Services Directory <br /> i. Review of curent directory information. <br /> ii. Emma and Pennie shared information about Healthy <br /> Mothers Healthy Babies. Their organization started in 1992 <br /> and they have now been on Hawaii Island for one year. They <br /> have a Kona office and serve clients in the local clinic or <br /> their homes. They provide routine well care services, receive <br /> referrals from community providers and accept self-referrals. <br /> Their mission is to assist the socially high-risk and medically <br /> high-risk to package their care. <br /> iii. CSW has agreed to add this program to the Family Services <br /> Directory. <br /> B. Outreach Sub-Committee report by Shana <br /> a. Get Out the Vote 2024: Events, Candidate Discussion <br /> i. April 6, 10:30am — Merrie Monarch parade. Shana has a <br /> banner and shirts. They are recruiting students. There is <br /> room for one more vehicle. Email Shana if you would like to <br /> participate. Press release about Get Out and Vote to go out <br /> day before the parade. <br /> ii. Will be doing outreach at the Youth Jam on April 20. <br /> iii. Will assist the disabled community with signing up to vote on <br /> May 18. <br /> b. CSW Community Survey Update <br /> i. 74 responses electronically so far. <br /> ii. 61 responses via hand written format. <br />
