3) Utility services shall be designed to minimize conflict with the natural <br /> environment and natural resources. <br /> The applicant feels that based upon the scope of its work,the site's <br /> minimal 750 s.f footprint size, and the current use of the subject <br /> property, the proposed use is designed to minimize conflict with the <br /> natural environment or natural resources. This is consistent with this <br /> Public Utilities Policy. <br /> H. The proposed use is an unusual and reasonable use of the land, which would <br /> not be contrary to the objectives sought to be accomplished by the Land Use Law, <br /> Rules and Regulations. <br /> Based on the above considerations, the applicant believes the proposed <br /> telecommunication monopalm, antennas and related structures is an unusual and <br /> reasonable use of this land, which would not be contrary to the objectives sought <br /> to be accomplished by the State Land Use Law and Regulations. <br /> SECTION 10 CONCLUSION <br /> The relatively recent introduction of the wireless communication industry may qualify <br /> the proposed project as an unusual use of property. However,the proposed project is <br /> considered to be a reasonable use of land, as it will provide necessary <br /> telecommunications service without significant adverse impact. <br /> The proposed modification to the existing telecommunications facility will not greatly <br /> affect the purpose for which the land is designated. There will be minimal alteration to <br /> the landscape. <br /> Verizon Wireless seeks to provide optimum service to its customer while working within <br /> the guidelines set by the County. The use of creative design provides the opportunity for <br /> improved coverage without changing the character of a community. Therefore, Verizon <br /> Wireless submits this application and respectfully requests your approval of a Use <br /> Permit. <br /> 20 <br />
