Describe major design/project challenges: <br /> The project has an aggressive permitting schedule that involves <br /> Project Overview overlapping preparation of federal and state permits/consultations,and <br /> The Hawaii Department of Transportation identified an emergency varying agency review and approval durations. In order to meet the <br /> rockfall mitigation project along Kamehameha Highway at Waimea desired construction schedule,permits are being prepared with options <br /> Bay, Sunset Beach side.An existing rockfall impact fence was installed for nightwork, multiple staging area locations,and other proactive onsite <br /> logistical alternatives which offers the client flexibility during construction <br /> twenty years ago as part of an emergency repair project and has <br /> reached its usable life span.The project will replace the existing 1,000 to remain maintain the desired construction schedule. <br /> linear foot fence with a new rockfall impact fence with higher energy <br /> absorption capability.
