BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT(Include scope,size,and cost) <br /> Sea Engineering was contracted to perform <br /> inspections of 24 federal coastal navigation <br /> structures (CNS)throughout Hawaii, Guam, Rota, - - <br /> and American Samoa operated and maintained by <br /> the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), <br /> Pacific Ocean Division (POD), Honolulu District ° ` <br /> (POH). The purposes of the inspections were to <br /> verify the current condition of the structures,locate <br /> areas of concern on each structure, and identify and <br /> recommend future maintenance requirements. ILL <br /> - <br /> Specific work tasks included: <br /> Kawaihae Small Boat Harbor <br /> 1) Categorizing each CNS into distinct reaches according to type of construction (rubble- <br /> mound, concrete armor, sheet pile, etc.); unique structural feature (head, trunk, root, etc.); and <br /> cross-sectional features (crest elevation, side slopes, toe protection, etc.). <br /> 2) Conducting inspections by physically walking the length of each CNS and inspecting areas <br /> including the crest, slopes, and toe of the structure. Damage was located with accurate GPS, <br /> described and photographed. <br /> 3) Preparing draft and final post-inspection <br /> {.
