During this time, a prioritized list of qualifying lands worthy of preservation was prepared and submitted for your comments and recommendations. The commissioners note that there has been much public interest in the work of the commission and the process of land acquisition by the County. The members of the Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources Preservation Commission want to say "thank you" to you, your staff and the County Council members for initiating acquisition of some of the recommended properties. Pursuant to Section 2- 217(2) of the Hawaii County Code, requires the Hawaii County Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources Preservation Commission to update the prioritized list at least annually by December 31 of each year. The attached report contains the updated prioritized list and also describes the revised process that was used to update the list.
