They suggest a <br /> variety of means by which the applicant might <br /> comply with the standards. The options for <br /> compliance are not limited to the guidelines listed, <br /> but the applicant can use the list to aid in the design <br /> process. <br /> Illustrations graphically portray the prescriptions and <br /> concepts conveyed in both the Standards and <br /> Guidelines. <br /> The program's deployment of standards and guidelines supported by illustrations that <br /> are used in conjunction with a standardized approval and review process creates the <br /> basis for a powerful scenic resources preservation program. <br /> Applicability to Hawaii County <br /> The Town of Stowe's overlay district may serve as a helpful model for Hawaii County as <br /> it develops a program to accomplish its scenic resource protection objectives.
