Discussion on GMAC’s Draft 2024 First Quarter Report to Mayor and County Council, <br />Commissioner Robert Duerr. <br /> <br />Commissioner Duerr presented the report which is included in the meeting packet. <br /> <br /> The report was basically each Commissioner’s monthly report. Key issues, what their <br />report was, what presentation was, who the presenter was and what the title was. The <br />report may be used as a tool to pull together an in-person presentation to the council. A <br />written report will be submitted to the mayor. <br /> <br />d. Discussion on GMAC’s Draft 2024 Second Quarter Report to Mayor and County <br />Council, Commissioner Leomana Turalde. <br /> <br />The written report was not available during the meeting. However, brief highlights were <br />shared. <br /> <br />6. NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />a. 2025 Legislative Opening Report, Commissioners Leomana Turalde and Brian Ley. <br /> <br />Chair Turalde presented photos taken during the legislative session as he and <br />B. Ley visited senators, state representatives, Lt. Governor and office staff. <br />Also, the past GMAC chair Abraham Antonio flew over for the Leg opening as well and <br />joined Turalde and Ley. <br /> <br /> Learned that such land as Kilohana Ranch and some of the other places may be <br />transferred over to Ag lands and if so, no hunting, unless you can prove direct lineal <br />descent lineage to that area. <br /> <br />Other topics that were discussed were goat strikes, sheep, pigs, drought, quality habitat, <br />goat waterers, water tanks, bird propagation, slowing down the helicopter shoots – <br />opening the areas and letting the hunters go in for us come up with a game plan. <br /> <br />Met up with Dave Smith from DLNR DOFAW, discussed the helicopter eradication on <br />Mauna Kea.
