You may be seated —and Ms. Tavares? <br />MS. TAVARES: Thank you. Good morning, Assistant Chief Okinaka. <br />MR. OKINAKA: Good morning. <br />MS. TAVARES: Thank you for being here. For purposes of context, I'm just going to draw <br />your attention to the recruitment for Job Number 2024-00009-I1), which is an internal <br />recruitment within the Fire Department for the Water Safety Officer III position. <br />Now, we are here because an appeal was filed by Mr. Kaye for, essentially, the results of what <br />transpired after this recruitment. One of the remedies he's seeking is for all derogatory and <br />disciplinary material to be removed from his personnel file. <br />So, my question for you is, are there any derogatory remarks in Mr. Kaye's file related to this <br />recruitment? <br />MR. OKINAKA: There is no derogatory information as far as I'm concerned. <br />MS. TAVARES: Is this information verifiable? <br />MR. OKINAKA: Yes. <br />MS. TAVARES: How? <br />MR. OKINAKA: Any employee is able to contact our HR office and request to review their <br />personnel file. <br />MS. TAVARES: Okay. Regarding this WSO III position, to your knowledge, was this position <br />for a promotion within the department? <br />MR. OKINAKA: Correct, it was for a promotion. <br />MS.
