6. OLD BUSINESS: <br /> <br />a. GMAC “Mana Aina Awards”: Continue discussion and/or finalizing the <br />nomination form, and other related materials, to honor outstanding <br />individuals or groups who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to <br />support the hunter-gatherer community and protecting our natural <br />resources. This award recognizes efforts that embody the spirit of <br />stewardship and respect for the land and community. Chair Turalde. <br /> <br />b. The Commission intends to discuss and may take action on creating <br />informational marketing materials of the Commission. Chair Turalde. <br /> <br />c. GMAC 2025 First Quarter Report on its activities, Chair Turalde. <br /> <br />d. Report on the site visit with NARS, DOFAW, GMAC, and hunters of the <br />proposed fencing of Puumakaala Forest from 800 acres to 400 acres, <br />Chair Turalde. <br /> <br /> <br />7. NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />a. The Commission intends to discuss topics for future GMAC agenda <br />presentations. Chair Turalde. <br /> <br />8. ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br /> <br />a. Next Meeting: August 19, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. <br />25 Aupuni Street, Puna Conference Room, 1501, Hilo, HI 96720. <br /> <br />9. ADJOURNMENT. <br />Executive Session: This Commission anticipates it may convene in one or more executive <br />sessions regarding the above matters listed on the agenda, pursuant to HRS Sections 92-4 and <br />92-5 (a)(4), for the purpose of consulting with the Board’s attorney on questions and issues <br />pertaining to the Commission’s powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities. A two-thirds <br />(2/3) vote pursuant to Hawai‘i Revised Statute Section 92-4 is necessary to hold an executive <br />session. Executive sessions are closed to the public. <br /> <br />Note: This meeting shall be automatically recessed for up to 30 minutes to restore communication <br />when audiovisual communication cannot be maintained with all Commission members <br />participating in the meeting or with the “in-person” location identified in this agenda. This meeting <br />may be in-person when either audiovisual communication is restored, or audio-only <br />communication is established after an unsuccessful attempt to restore audiovisual <br />communication.
