<br /> ahupua'a of Ho`ae`ae in the'Ewa district of Oahu.The survey covered three parcels identified by City and County of Honolulu Tax Map Keys(TMK)and
<br /> aimed to assess historical and cultural resources within the project area.The scope included documenting existing conditions, identifying potential
<br /> significant historic properties,an effects assessment,coordination with the Hawai'i State Historic Preservation Division(SHPD),development of
<br /> mitigation commitments, preparation of a HAER-like documentation report,and development of interpretive signage to be installed at the property.Role:

<br /> The proposed undertaking entails upgrading approximately 1.8 miles of rail line by installing a second track parallel to the existing single track,
<br /> constructing two new double-track bridges,and updating the signal system.Subsequent to the original cultural resources study prepared for the
<br /> undertaking, SWCA prepared an addendum to evaluate a segment of the San Diego Northern Railway within the Area of Potential Effects which
<br /> traverses Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.The railroad segment was found eligible for the NRHP as a contributing element to a larger resource,
<br /> the Atchison,Topeka and Santa Fe Railway,which had previously been determined eligible for the NRHP as a linear resource.An effects analysis
<br /> found the undertaking would not result in an adverse effect to the historic property.The report was subject to review by Marine Corps Base Camp

<br /> The project included the evaluation of the Mountain Home Air Force Base runway system for the NRHP, preparation of a historic preservation and
<br /> maintenance manual for a NRHP-eligible building on the base,and development of an archaeological context within which to evaluate historic period
<br /> archaeological resources identified on the base and associated ranges.A particular focus of the research and context was the Basque immigrant
<br /> community,which had not been adequately studied and documented previously.Work included a site visit to the air force base and archival research
<br /> including literature,map and aerial photograph review conducted at the base historian and real property offices,the Idaho State Archives, Boise State
<br /> University Special Collections,the Basque Museum and Cultural Center,and other repositories.The project was undertaken to support compliance with
<br /> Section 110 of the NHPA. Role:Architectural Historian. Conducted site visit,research,and co-authored the NRHP evaluation of the runway system.
