COUNTY OF HAWAVI—COMMITTEE ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> Date : October 15, 2025 <br /> Location: 655 Kilauea Ave. Hilo, HI 96720 (hybrid via Zoom and in-person) <br /> Time: Meeting called to order at 11:30 a.m. <br /> I. CALL TO ORDER AND ATTENDANCE <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Kaycie Parks at 11:30am. <br /> Attendance : Kaycie Parks,Andrew Langtry, Farrah-Marie Gomes, Justice Pang, Shannon Burke, Jennifer Stotter, <br /> Skye Narvaez, Dakota (Cody)Friends, Jan-Marie Osorio <br /> Absent: Sandra Claveria, Hilina'i Kane <br /> Public Observers: Misty Carter, Lai Sha Bugado. <br /> Members and attendees were asked to provide their names in the chat for documentation purposes. <br /> II.APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES <br /> Approval of minutes from September 17,2025,was tabled until the next meeting, as Jan did not receive the prior <br /> minutes. Cody clarified at 11:40 a.m. that the Commission has 40 days to finalize and post approved minutes for <br /> public access. <br /> III. STANDING REPORTS <br /> Report by Jennifer Stotter: Due to lack of administrative support, the November meeting has been delayed but will be <br /> posted as required. <br /> • Ma'i Movement: Upcoming statewide survey in 2026 on poverty and menstrual equity. <br /> • Commission Branding: Discussion of potential T-shirts and information packets. <br /> • Reproductive Access: Reconvening Hawai'i Abortion Assessment focusing on neighbor island accessibility. <br /> • State Commission Updates: Participation in Pride Parade, potential article about the Commission, and Nurturing <br /> Wahine Fund. <br /> • 11:45 a.m. —Executive Director Compensation discussion raised by Farrah. <br /> • 11:52 a.m. —Nancy Moser joined via Zoom. <br /> • Policy Discussion by Shannon at 12:00 p.m.: Topics included restraining order effectiveness, inclusive policy <br /> language, and timing of State Commission minutes. <br /> • Shannon will email Jennifer to follow up on Native Hawaiian women representation at State Commission level. <br /> IV. TREASURER'S REPORT(Andrew Langtry) <br /> 12:05 p.m.—Treasurer's report presented. <br /> • Current budget remains$10,000(unchanged since 2020). <br /> •$1,000 used for outreach at the All Girls Rodeo. <br /> • Budget review and potential updates scheduled for 2027. <br /> • 12:08 p.m. —Farrah asked if categories are determined by the Prosecuting Attorney's Office. <br /> • Shannon noted the draft is due at the end of the month; Dawn stated budget hearings have begun. <br /> • Cody explained the process of increasing funding and that the fiscal year budget remains largely unused. <br /> • Shannon moved to defer acceptance of the Treasurer's Report to the November meeting. <br /> •Andrew to prepare draft; noted workload challenges. <br /> V. OLD BUSINESS <br /> 12:20 p.m.—Shannon and Justice report deferred due to personal reasons; event remains placeholder for next fiscal <br /> year. <br /> Equal Pay Social Media Project: Reported by Farrah; insufficient video material, but continued coverage encouraged. <br /> Gift Cards: Jan to retain; Cody emphasized distribution as originally agreed. <br /> 12:25 p.m.—Funding report closed; program report remains open. <br />
