but...You know?Yeah, sure.You've been here often while I'm covering. It's funny,though,
there's a funny announcement, too, I'll make at the end of it. Okay, I'm just asking...
SSF: So that one's done, right?
e. Discussion regarding GMAC's goals for calendar year 2026.
LT: Yep. So, moving forward from D to Agenda Item 7E, discussion regarding GMAC goal for
calendar year 2026.
SSF: 11:30 as far as we can take.
LT: Okay, let's just clean this out, and we're good. Okay, just general goals regarding 2026.
Some brainstorm ideas. My main goal for 2026, starting right now, is recruitment. Two of us,
three of us,are out.We can only get... Probably one person in every two months, because
the commissions and the standards of them accepting. So, recruitment is on there. Other
goals are returning to the ledge and go network with the people and telling them our issues.
Weapons updates, professionalism, developmental training, quarterly in person meetups.
Whether that is to go hunt,to go fish, or learn something new from each other. I was thinking
about cleaning fish. Let's all get together down the aina, and let's all go over
cleaning fish, and how we can tell if the fish is poisoned, how the fish is sick, and
kind of get the information from experts. That was kind of like a quarterly or biannual
meetup. One thing I reallywant to do,you know, this is a personal thing for me, and I know
we're all affected by this, but Big Island, a lot of our hunters are on drugs. More than half.
Most of my friends, Plenty of people I know,so for me to promote guns, weapons, hunting, I
also gotta... for myself, I personally have to promote drug awareness, safety classes,
weapons handling, community outreach, and to me,those two things go in hand, and I
cannot do one without the other,so, That was kind of my... For next year,at least one rally,
whether it be, Guns awareness, or drug awareness, because that's what we deal with as the
hunting community, weapons and drugs a lot. But that's kind of my brainstorm ideas for
calendaryear.
BL Brain Ley District4.Yeah, beating my broken drum one more time, is getting the county to
file a lawsuit against a State or quality habitat. That would include... Control fire burns. On
the,you know,for the goat habitat, not only,you know. It's for the county's safety,too.
Everyone's screaming about drought situations. We need to address this issue on fire
hazards, and quality habitat is the number one source, is we burn this fountain grass to
bring in the goats and lessen the fire load, and like you said, quality habitat on Mauna Kea,
bring the sheep back. It's a State thing. We fought hard in the legislature to get this law
passed, and as I said, the DLNR and a lot of these state officials, theyjust ignore laws that
we have passed, and somebody needs to hold them accountable. like I said, I'd like to see
the county, because the county has sued the state before over eradication programs and
stuff, so it's not wishful thinking on my point. It's been done in the past.
