RD: Duerr District 1, maybe that needs to go on the agenda, how does Corp Council interact
with a commission if there's alleged legal problems. Like,we have that letter today from
Blake McNaughton on, legal access. You know, your issues on neglect,so maybe Corp
Council... that'd be a good one for Corp Council to just kind of, like. It's just Sunshine law.
BL: How we go about writing a proposal to the mayor, saying, look,we've... this is our issues,
this is the problem, the county is suffering from the state not doing its job.
SSF: So yeah, the mayor, the administration decides who to sue, how to initiate a suit. County
Council, if we're settling for... if we're being sued, they have the authority to settle things,
so... Do you guys want the administration to take legal action, you guys could write a letter
to them.
BL: Okay, shoot.Well, it's like I said, maybe we have a meeting where you could write it out,
where we could post why we want the state to be sued for these reasons, fire hazard, fire
mitigation, and stuff like that.
SSF: Yeah, I mean,
BL: Just notjust a thing to the state, you know.
RD: Robert Duerr district 1,one thing is, like, a consultation. Like, forthe mountain, the federal
jurisdiction. standingwas with Sierra Club, to have a consultation with Sierra Club
to see, has... have things changed, and does the order need to be amended?
SSF: So,yeah, I'm not sure exactlywhat you guys are talking about, but I'm here to assist you
guys in your guys' meetings. I'm not a litigator, like, I'm not an attorney that you can hire to go
and sue somebody, that's just not in my authority or my direction, but...
JA: Well, I think the biggest one was, how do you petition the county to sue the state, because
the state's not doing what they're chartered to do?
SSF: Yeah, I mean, there's various ways...
JA: Yeah, so that's the clear definition of what's being asked.
SSF: Yeah,so you guys can do that if you want to write a letter.
JA: Yep. Now, and would it be better for GMAC as a... 5-member charter right now. Orwould
you be better off having, a county... a petition of hunters come to that as well. Be like, hey,
we got a thousand hunters in the county to say, hey, this also, you know, not only is it us
wanting this, but here's also a thousand signatures from hunters saying the state...the
county needs to ask the state to do better on that. Does that bring more, you know,to the
fight?
SSF: I mean, I would assume so.You know, yeah, I mean, it's kind of like a gray area in how to get
things done kind of thing, and that's politics, right?
