Another thought is I know the Council Member for the
district has helped address some of the traffic or parking concerns in Hoku Lane and
the other narrow lane more by Kawamoto's. So, check -in with your Council district
member, since they've helped the neighborhood before, that might be an avenue and
a resource.
DeMattos: Yeah, okay.
Benevides: Those were the concerns we had.
DeMattos: Yes, and mahalo to the Commission for hearing that, and mahalo to the
Tokunaga's.
Nishimoto: Thank you very much.
Waltjen: Thank you.
Greenwell: Thank you.
Yadao: So there's no further discussion or questions, can I have a motion to close the
public hearing?
Okabe: So moved.
Taniguchi: Second.
Commissioner Okabe moved to close the public
hearing; Seconded by Commissioner Taniguchi.
Yadao: Any discussion of the motion?
There was no discussion by Commissioners.
Yadao: All those in favor say "Aye."
The Commissioners voted "Aye."
Yadao: Any opposed say "Nay."
There was no opposition by Commissioners.
The motion was carried unanimously.
Yadao: Can I get a motion to approve or deny Application No. 25-07, pending final
inspection?
MINUTES - LIQUOR COMMISSION MEETING - THURSDAY, JANUARY 8, 2026 - HILO PAGE 9 OF 41
