Training: <br />Conducted a 3 hour training session on Title II of the ADA and <br />th <br />Law Enforcement for 64 Class of Police Recruits. <br />Other Police Business: <br />Received one inquiry/complaint about police practices with respect <br />to parking enforcement and other ADA issues; <br />Spoke to lawyer Hawaii Disability Rights re complaint about <br />access, Hilo Police Station. Told him insulation was fixed on pipes <br />under sinks, informational and directional signage has been put on <br />the road, and HPD is in process of procuring signage for building <br />facilities; Department of Public Works found soap dispensers in <br />bathrooms to be within acceptable reach ranges (ADAAG); still <br />working on the (heaviness of) front doors. Sent him information re <br />training I did for Recruits on Title II; <br />Wrote article on Law Enforcement and the ADA for County <br />Newsletter. <br />Outreach: <br />Attended Disability Rights Hawaii Meeting. <br />3 <br />
