some type of ADA training for employers that come to their different workshops. He <br />will provide more information as those progresses. The Workforce Solutions group <br />will have a fair on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Waiakea High School cafeteria, from <br />9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be a display on how they help people with disabilities <br />obtain employment in the community. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />J. Matsui raised an issue about providing more disabled stalls for people with disabilities <br />at churches. M. Gleason responded that this issue is not under the purview of MCPD. <br />However, MCPD members can contact our churches as individuals. He would be <br />willing to speak to Mayor H. Kim about this issue. MCPD is restricted in what the <br />committee can do officially and their job is to advise the Mayor of issues on county <br />property. <br />A. Mitchener requested funding for public education projects with leftover MCPD funds <br />at the end of the fiscal year which will not be used. Two projects that she would like to <br />see funded are shipping costs for beach access mats and airfare for a guest panel <br />speaker presentation for the public on beach access solutions. This issue will be <br />discussed at the next meeting since it wasn’t an agenda item. <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON NON-AGENDA ISSUES <br />E. Watai introduced herself as a part-time aide to K. Angel Pilago and a Volunteer <br />Enforcement Officer in Kona. <br />B. Watai introduced himself as a Volunteer Enforcement Officer in Kona. He gets upset <br />when a young adult parks in the disabled stall and run in the store. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The next meeting will be held on Friday, April 4, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. in the Kona <br />Mayor’s Office conference room. <br />A.
