The Workforce Solutions group will have a fair on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Waiakea High School cafeteria, from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be a display on how they help people with disabilities obtain employment in the community. NEW BUSINESS J. Matsui raised an issue about providing more disabled stalls for people with disabilities at churches. M. Gleason responded that this issue is not under the purview of MCPD. However, MCPD members can contact our churches as individuals. He would be willing to speak to Mayor H. Kim about this issue. MCPD is restricted in what the committee can do officially and their job is to advise the Mayor of issues on county property. A. Mitchener requested funding for public education projects with leftover MCPD funds at the end of the fiscal year which will not be used. Two projects that she would like to see funded are shipping costs for beach access mats and airfare for a guest panel speaker presentation for the public on beach access solutions.
