E. Cabatu agreed to utilize funding from the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of <br />Women (HSCSW) for the equal pay radio spots for $1,665.00. K. Peters indicated that <br />$1,600, which is a portion of the $3,000-$4,000 funding from the HSCSW, can be <br />designated to equal pay legislation and the majority of it can be used towards the “get <br />out the vote” campaign. <br />J. Viernes reported that the following are current expenses for the essay contest: <br />Borders gift cards - $900; spiral binding combs - $16.67; lunch – 57 adults @ $25, 6 <br />children @ $19. <br />C. Kitaoka stated that Big Island Candies donated gifts and they will be given to the <br />“Real Women,” Mayor’s representative, and council representative so the committee will <br />not be purchasing leis. <br />N. Kelly said that she will have a better determination of CSW’s budget after the essay <br />contest. In addition, committee members should be carpooling for the next few <br />meetings and the committee should limit the cost of lunch per person. C. Kitaoka added <br />that there will be no mileage claim if CSW members rode in a county car with N. Kelly or <br />herself. <br />D. Pung moved to accept the treasurer’s report. A. Mejia seconded the motion. Viernes reported that she received a proposal from a UHH student who is <br />willing to update the directory as a school project. <br />2.First Female Booklet <br />After some discussion, J. Balberde-Kamalii offered to ask Ben Franklin Crafts to <br />help put together the display board for CSW. K. Peters offered to edit the <br />booklet. <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii questioned the purpose and the intent of the booklet. Where <br />would the board be displayed and what population will be targeted? D. Pung <br />responded that the board will be displayed at the Women’s Hall of Fame and at <br />all of CSW’s events. <br />2 <br /> <br />
