3.Essay Contest <br />C. Kitaoka reported that some of the winners are unable to attend and she asked <br />if CSW members can read their essays at the luncheon. J. Balberde-Kamalii, <br />A. Mejia, and K. Schneider volunteered to read the essays. <br />E. Cabatu suggested that the equal pay radio spots be previewed at the <br />luncheon. <br />4.Hawaii County Women’s Hall of Fame <br />Tabled. <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii asked if CSW wanted a traveling display board for the <br />Women’s Hall of Fame. CSW suggested putting the names of the winners if <br />photos are not available. Any information or photos should be submitted to <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii. <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii said she does not have a budget for this project, but she will <br />ask for guidance from a friend at Ben Franklin Crafts with the current materials <br />that she has. She offered to complete this project by the end of July. <br />5.Equal Pay <br />E. Cabatu reported that New West Broadcasting, Corp. (KWXX, B97, KPUA) will <br />be doing the radio spots from April 14-20, 2010. She will ask the HSCSW if they <br />can pay for the entire amount. <br />B.Health <br />1.Women’s Health Month <br />Tabled. <br />N. Kelly pointed out that CSW needs to keep in mind that the committee’s <br />program objectives states that they will participate in Women’s Health Month by <br />coordinating at least one event in East and West Hawaii. <br />E. Cabatu reported that CSW agreed to partner with Hui Malama Ola Na Oiwi for <br />their Ladies Night Out event which will be held in Kona and on the first week of <br />October in Hilo. <br />E. Cabatu suggested issuing a PSA script and shop it around. N. Kelly <br />suggested having a table at Celebrate Your Family "Cherish the Child" Family <br />Event scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2010 at Sangha Hall in Hilo.The Urgent <br />Services Directory can be distributed at this event and K. Peters offered to do <br />depression screening. K. Nova and C. Kitaoka offered to do an event in Kona. <br />C.Liaison <br />1.HSCSW <br />E. Cabatu reported that she met with Kwai-Chang Publico, a promoter and owner <br />of Fearless Hawaiian, about helping the committee encourage our younger, <br />female population to register to vote and to actually follow through and vote in the <br />3 <br /> <br />
