CORRESPONDENCE st A.Invitation from the Family Violence Interagency Committee to join them at the 21 Annual Domestic Violence Family Peace Walk & Vigil today at the Mooheau Bandstand in Hilo B.Resignation letter from CSW member Mary Sherman REPORTS A.Education 1.Urgent Services Directory CSW decided at the last meeting to publish the directory on the county website and not print the directory. 2.First Female Booklet A. Mejia reported that they will produce two display boards. N. Kelly and D. Pung will assist her with putting on the pictures and caption. C. Kitaoka stated that she met a woman who is from a women’s organization on Oahu and they have a conference in April at the Hawaii Convention Center. This woman provided her email if CSW wanted to participate in that event and put up the committee’s display board. C. Kitaoka suggested that CSW make a second display board that is portable. 3.Essay Contest C. Kitaoka reported that the deadline to submit essays is December 11, 2009. She will also be seeking judges for the event.In the meantime, she needs to find more funding to help defray some of the costs. Last year’s expenditures were approximately $6,000. She will contact Kim Higashi at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel to negotiate a menu. 4.Hawaii County Women’s Hall of Fame C. Ka-ipo reported she is still receiving e-mail and comments about the event and how much people enjoyed it. The thank you letters were sent out in a timely manner to the main contributors. C. Ka-ipo said she is looking for a photo of the four winners to publish in the newspaper. C. Kitaoka will check with M. Masunaga. C. Ka-ipo will prepare a news release once a photo is submitted. A. Mejia offered to bring sample awards from Trophy Case for next year’s event because the vases were heavy. 5.Equal Pay Tabled. 2
