STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />None. <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br />None. <br />REPORTS <br />A.Education <br />1.Urgent Services Directory <br />The updated directory was circulated to CSW members. <br />E. Takazawa suggested that the directory be updated every other year or reduce <br />the amount to be printed to cut costs.D. Pung noted that the directory is also <br />available for printing on the county’s website. <br />CSW suggested waiting until the end of the fiscal year to see how much money <br />the committee has left before making a decision on printing the next directory. <br />2.First Female Booklet <br />A. Mejia and D. Pung will work on the display board. <br />3.Essay Contest <br />No report. <br />4.Hawaii County Women’s Hall of Fame <br />C. Ka-ipo reported that the Women’s Hall of Fame is scheduled for Saturday, <br />September 12, 2009, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. <br />The Puako buffet has been modified which includes the tax and tip for $30 per <br />person. She suggested charging $35 per person to help the committee defray <br />some of the cost of the event. <br />C. Ka-ipo suggested announcing the honorees at the event. This way all of the <br />nominees will attend with their families and supporters. K. Peters suggested <br />having 10 or 15 finalists and the committee will pay lunch for the finalists. <br />The entertainment with Melveen Leed has been confirmed. C. Ka-ipo is waiting <br />for a reply from Jade Moon. The room charge has been reduced to $350 from <br />$500. A special room rate of $149 is being offered by the hotel for people <br />attending the event. <br />A. Mejia offered to look for three vases on Oahu since she already has three of <br />them at home. N. Kelly said that her husband can get the wood and make the <br />bases again. <br />2 <br /> <br />
