2.Legislative Update <br />E. Cabatu reported that the focus for this final round is on trafficking. <br />D.Community Reports <br />None. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A.Teen Dating Violence Prevention Peer Education Conference <br />No report. <br />B.Teens Internet Protection – A. Mejia <br />A. Mejia reported that she met an employee from the Attorney General’s office at a <br />training on Maui. She is willing to be a speaker on internet protection for adults in <br />September. Detective John Ancheta can also do the presentation if she is unable to <br />attend and there will be no cost to the committee. <br />E. Takazawa recommended the presentation at the district PTA meeting. <br />K. Peters mentioned that she has a friend who can show the parents how to utilize <br />the internet protection software program during the presentation in West Hawaii. <br />However, A. Mejia needs to find a computer person who can do a similar <br />presentation about the software in East Hawaii. <br />K. Nova asked A. Mejia to submit a budget and what is the plan to publicize the <br />event. The committee needs to disseminate the information in the community to the <br />parents. K. Peters said that CSW need to get a paid newspaper ad so the parents <br />are aware of the training. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A.Election of Officers <br />The Nominating Committee consisting of N. Kelly, K. Peters, and D. Pung presented <br />the following slate of officers: <br />Chair – K. Nova <br />Vice-Chair – C. Kitaoka <br />Secretary – K. Peters <br />Treasurer – N. Kelly <br />Since there were no nominations from the floor, D. Pung moved to accept the slate <br />of officers. C. Ka-ipo seconded the motion. The motion was passed. <br />th <br />B.6 Annual International Women’s Leadership Conference – Tuesday, September 22, <br />2009 <br />K. Nova reported that she would like to attend the conference this year representing <br />CSW. Registration will be paid by the HSCSW. <br />4 <br /> <br />
