<br />COMMITTEE ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN <br />Friday, May 15, 2009, 10:00 a.m. <br />Waimea Civic Center Conference Room <br />PRESENT EXCUSED <br />Katie Nova, Chair Nancy Kelly, Treasurer <br />Carol Kitaoka, Vice-Chair Charmaine Ka-ipo <br />Ellen Takazawa, Secretary Andrea Mejia <br />Kathleen Peters Elena Cabatu, HSCSW Commissioner <br />Dawn Pung (ex-officio) <br />Mary Sherman Julie Mecklenburg, Corporation Counsel <br /> (ex-officio) <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 10:10 a.m. <br />ROLL CALL <br />A quorum was present. <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />D. Pung moved that the agenda be amended by adding to New Business, Nominating <br />Committee and that the agenda be approved as amended. M. Sherman seconded the <br />motion. The motion was passed. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />D. Pung moved to approve the April 17, 2009 minutes. C. Kitaoka seconded the <br />motion. The motion was passed. <br />TREASURER’S REPORT <br />The treasurer’s report was circulated. <br />C. Kitaoka moved that money be allocated for the following items: $1,400 for Urgent <br />Services Directory printing, $400 for display board and photos from the First Female <br />Booklet, $800 for two display boards for Teen Dating Violence to be circulated among <br />the schools, $350 for wood and glass supplies for Hall of Fame, and $100 for one <br />internet protection software program. D. Pung seconded the motion. The motion was <br />passed. <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />None. <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br />A. Ready to Run Campaign Training for Women, Thursday, June 3, 2009, 8:30 a.m. – <br />4:30 p.m., Hawaii State Capitol Auditorium, hosted by the Hawaii State Commission <br />on the Status of Women (HSCSW) <br />Hawai‘i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer <br /> <br />
