C. Liaison <br />1. HSCSW <br />E. Cabatu reported that she communicated to Sharon Ferguson-Quick, Executive <br />Director of the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women (HSCSW), that <br />CSW is interested in having a Ready to Run county level conference. Secondly, <br />the HSCSW had a couple of workshops for Equal Pay Day. Lastly, the 2008 <br />International Women’s Leadership Conference is coming up and the HSCSW <br />has offered to cover the cost of the registration fee for the CSW chair and/or <br />representative. <br />2. Legislative Update <br />No report. <br />D. Community Reports <br />None. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Teen Dating Violence Prevention Peer Education Conference <br />C. Kitaoka reported that she will apply for a grant with the HMSA Foundation for the <br />conference. <br />B. Teens Internet Protection – K. Nova <br />Tabled. <br />A. Mejia offered to inquire with the Police Department because they have personnel <br />that already go out to the schools as public education. She will report back to the <br />committee. <br />K. Peters stated that the focus of this project is to educate the parents, not educate <br />the children. She suggested finding a venue where the cost would be minimal such <br />as a community center. <br />A. Mejia said the PTSA would be happy to have this type of educational talk at the <br />school. <br />C. Questionable Member Status – D. Pung <br />D. Pung reported that she sent a letter to the Mayor which was circulated to CSW <br />members. The county administration is asking for recommendations from the <br />committee to replace J. Coburn. <br />M. Andrews recommended Laura Dierenfield who is currently working for Tutu’s <br />House in Waimea. J. Viernes to contact L. Dierenfield to see whether or not she is <br />interested in serving on the committee. <br />4 <br /> <br />
