REPORTS <br />A. Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />E. Takazawa reported that the revised directory is completed and the cost was <br />$1,345. She presented a final copy of the directory for review. There are <br />approximately three packets left from last year. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />A. Mejia reported that the booklet will go out to bid in July. She needs to make <br />contact with those women who do not have a photo in the booklet. CSW decided at <br />the last meeting that the booklet will be printed on white paper, a lavender cover, <br />and saddle stitched. After some discussion, A. Mejia moved to print 500 copies of <br />the First Female Booklet and the bid process will be done by J. Viernes. <br />E. Takazawa seconded the motion. The motion was passed. <br />3. Essay Contest <br />C. Kitaoka reported that the initial packet will be mailed out to the schools in August. <br />E. Cabatu said she will enlist her twin sister who is an English teacher at Keaau <br />Middle School to distribute the essay contest information internally at her school. In <br />addition, she offered to emcee the essay contest awards luncheon next year. <br />4. Mentoring <br />No report. <br />5. Hawaii County Women’s Hall of Fame <br />C. Kitaoka reported that N. Kelly emailed J. Moon several weeks ago and she has <br />not received a response. N. Kelly will keep trying to make contact. The press <br />release is complete and it will be sent to J. Viernes to put on letterhead. <br />C. Kitaoka said that she spoke to Agnes Mui at the Hilton Waikoloa Village and the <br />menu will be the same as last year and she will charge $57.50 per person inclusive. <br />C. Kitaoka offered to check on the vases at the Ross Stores and N. Kelly will check <br />on a picture frame or a crystal bowl. <br />E. Cabatu mentioned that the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women <br />(HSCSW) members have expressed interest in attending the women’s hall of fame. <br />6. Equal Pay <br />K. Nova circulated a draft radio spot for equal pay submitted by K. Peters. <br />E. Cabatu reported that the quote for the teen dating violence/equal pay radio <br />advertisement is $2,187.49 to Pacific Radio Group. She needs to find teenagers to <br />record the radio spot in Hilo or Kona. C. Kitaoka moved to approve $2,187.49 for <br />radio advertisements on teen dating violence/equal pay. K. Nova seconded the <br />motion. The motion was passed. <br />2 <br /> <br />
